Every new account brings years of photos with it. The first week after someone joins, their phone uploads more than they will in the next six months combined. When too many people join at once, everyone's backups slow down.
So we open accounts in batches, as new storage comes online. If you're on the waitlist, you will get an email when your spot opens — usually within a few weeks.
